Hello, and welcome to Beyond Two Worlds! I’m delighted you’re here. A little about me – I’m a Taiwanese-American adoptee, Associate Clinical Social Worker (which means I’m working toward clinical licensure under the supervision of a licensed social worker/therapist), and Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) with a clinical concentration in Children, Youth, and Families from Arizona State University. I am trained in TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) and have a special interest in how trauma, loss, and separation affect adoptees and children in foster care. My passion is working with adoptees and in post-adopt. I currently live in southern California, and in my spare time, enjoy writing, drawing and painting, podcasting, music, yoga, and spending time at my favorite coffee shops along the California coast.
I created Beyond Two Worlds in January 2010, when I first began searching for my birth family in Taipei, Taiwan. You can read about my adoption journey and reunion with my birth family in my book, Beyond Two Worlds: A Taiwanese-American Adoptee’s Memoir & Search for Identity.” And if you’re visiting for the first time, I recommend starting here, where everything first began.
I’m truly excited that this website has evolved into a platform for adoptees to connect and share information, resources, stories, and life experiences. I also enjoy providing consultation on adoption-related topics to adoptive parents, adoptees, adoptee groups, parent groups, professional organizations, adoption agencies, and educational institutions. If you’d like to discuss my services, please contact me via the Consultations link on this site. Thanks for stopping by!
