Marijane is an Associate Clinical Social Worker and Board-Certified Music Therapist. She received her Master of Social Work (MSW) with a clinical concentration in Children, Youth, and Families from Arizona State University. She also completed her certification in Music Therapy at Arizona State University. Her professional experience includes providing music therapy to children and adolescents with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities, to adolescents with mental health issues and substance use disorders, and to adults with serious mental illness. She has also provided direct therapy to youth in foster care as a child clinician and to adults with serious mental illnesses/dual diagnoses.
Marijane created, Beyond Two Worlds, in January 2010 when she first began searching for her birth family in Taipei, Taiwan. Her website has evolved into a platform for adoptees to connect and share information, resources, stories, and life experiences. Marijane provides consultation on adoption-related topics to adoptee groups, parent groups, professional organizations, adoption agencies, and educational institutions. She and her husband live in southern California with their miniature dachshund and have one adult daughter. In her spare time, Marijane enjoys writing, podcasting, music, yoga, and frequenting her favorite coffee shops along the Californian coast.
