Hello, and welcome to Beyond Two Worlds. A little about me – I’m a Taiwanese-American adoptee, Associate Clinical Social Worker, Board-Certified Music Therapist and author. I received my Master of Social Work with a clinical concentration in Children, Youth and Families from Arizona State University and my undergraduate degree in Piano Performance from Centenary College of Louisiana. I have a special interest in working with and connecting to international adoptees. I also enjoy podcasting, yoga and spending time at my favorite coffee shops along the California coast.
I created Beyond Two Worlds in January 2010, when I first began searching for my birth family in Taipei, Taiwan. You can read about my adoption journey and reunion with my birth family in my book, Beyond Two Worlds: A Taiwanese-American Adoptee’s Memoir & Search for Identity.” And if you’re visiting for the first time, I recommend starting at my oldest post here then reading “up,” or from oldest post to newest.
I’m thrilled that this website has evolved into a platform for adoptees to connect and share information, resources, stories and life experiences. I also facilitate an Adoptive Parent Support Group, an adopted children’s and teen support and psychoeducational group and provide community trainings on topics relevant to foster and adopted youth. To contact me, please go to the Contacts link located on the Home Page. Thanks for stopping by.
